Investment Banking Group
Mr. Finley heads-up the Investment Banking Group as well as the Beijing office for TriPoint. He is responsible for relationships with issuers and advising them on capital raising and financial structuring. Prior to joining TriPoint, he was the primary relationship manager at a leading PIPE hedge fund and was responsible for developing its China initiative.
He began his career in the Valuation Group at Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles where he built the franchise team and designed computer models to value over $1 billion of franchised businesses for securitization. Mr. Finley then spent five years at Deutsche Bank in New York as an investment banker. At Deutsche he analyzed capital structures and debt capacity of prospective LBO targets for financial buyers of franchised businesses as well as managing the execution of over $4 billion of lead-managed credit card securitizations. He also performed financial analysis and due diligence on over $500 million of franchise loans for 144a private placement securitizations. Prior to his professional career, Mr. Finley invented the high-end, monopoly-style board game Corporate Pursuit, for which he raised $250K of venture capital and marketed it to upscale stores including Bloomingdales.
Mr. Finley holds an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business and a B.A. from the University of Rochester.
Mr. Kramer is a Managing Director of Investment Banking. He has extensive experience with transaction structuring, trading, due diligence, and valuation. Mr. Kramer previously worked with Ardent Advisors, a consulting firm that provides corporate advisory services for early stage companies. Prior to Ardent, Mr. Kramer worked as a Sales Associate in the VIP Client Division at Sony Electronics. He received a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. MacPherson has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry in corporate finance, sell side research, and strategic consulting. Mr. MacPherson previously worked at AmeriTech Advisors, a NYC based boutique investment bank focused on the healthcare and technology industries. In 2006 Mr. MacPherson founded Diagnostics Intelligence Group (DIG), a strategic consulting firm focused on the healthcare diagnostics industry. Prior to founding DIG, Mr. MacPherson was the Director of Research for Infinium Securities, a healthcare investment bank with offices in San Francisco and Toronto. Previously, he headed the business development efforts of Health Hero Network, an early-stage healthcare technology company. He has also held positions in health care equity research at Volpe Brown Whelan and both equity research and corporate finance at Salomon Brothers. Mr. MacPherson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Series 79 license.
Mr. Bench has eighteen years of experience in the financial markets as an investment banker, research analyst, CFO and financial advisor. He is also President of The DBC Group Corp., a financial advisory and consultancy company based in midtown Manhattan. Since 2002, the Company has been assisting both public and private global corporations with cash flow management, operational performance, strategic growth planning, capital structure, as well as budgeting and expense control. The company utilizes in depth qualitative and quantitative analysis acting in an advisory role to many of these businesses Additionally, The DBC Group acts as a liaison for investment purposes between Investment Banks, Private Equity Firms, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital firms, and the corporations it may represent.
Mr. Bench also works on an outsourced basis as Chief Financial Officer for ELLKAY LLC, a Healthcare Information Technology Company based in New Jersey and as Sr. Financial Analyst for Trinad Capital based in California. He was previously a Vice President of Institutional Equity Research at Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder in New York and in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group within the Investment Banking division of Lazard Fréres L.L.C. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and his Master’s degree in Finance from the International Business School at Brandeis University. Mr. Bench holds Series 7, 63, 79, 86, and 87 securities licenses.
Hebe Q. Xu
Senior Vice President
Ms. Xu joined the firm in 2008. She is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking Group where she interacts directly with Chinese executives to assist their performance as a public company in the U.S. She advises clients on communication withauditors, attorneys and other market professionals. She also specializes in market/industry analysis, valuation analysis, due diligence and cross boarder transactions. She earned a M.A. in Economics from New York University and a B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering with distinction from Sun Yat-Sen University (formerly Zhongshan University). She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Mr. Brand joined TriPoint in 2015. He concentrates on the origination and underwriting of senior & junior debt, mezzanine debt and various private & public equity financings across all major sectors. Prior to joining TriPoint, he was an Associate at Imperium Global Partners, Inc. where he focused on raising equity and underwriting various debt offerings for companies in the healthcare, energy, consumer and tech sectors. Prior to Imperium, Mr. Brand was an investment banking Analyst on the Underwriting team of Jefferies Finance LLC, a joint-venture between Jefferies & Company and Babson Capital, where he helped underwrite 13 transactions worth $2.5BN. Mr. Brand graduated from Lehigh University in 2011 with a B.S. in Finance. Mr. Brand holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
Raymond A. Catroppa, CFA
Mr. Catroppa has been a financial services professional for over 30 years and has worked with well known Wall Street firms such as CS First Boston, First Manhattan Corporation and Neuberger Berman. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Board Member for public clothing designer Horiyoshi Worldwide, Inc. as well as Director of Business Development and Corporate Communications for Quadrant 4 System Corporation. His background includes working in capital markets, finance, business development and corporate governance. Mr. Catroppa has worked to enhance shareholder value for many public companies by focusing on the investment process to increase shareholder value, raise capital and promote corporate transparency. He has also worked with private companies to help position them to become publicly traded corporations. Mr. Catroppa earned an MBA from Fordham University and attained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He holds the Series 7, 79 & 63 licenses.
